Homeschooling in the Summer

Current school room situation A lot of well-meaning people have asked me if we are homeschooling throughout the summer. I'm not sure if it's due to the fact that they've heard of homeschooling families doing that, or if they just assume we must be behind and desperately trying to catch up 👀, but the frequency of the question prompted this post, so here's my answer. We are doing "summer schooling." What that looks like is a semi-daily, light load of work, mostly made up of a math lesson, reading, and occasionally a page or two from whatever work book they have leftover from the school year. At the beginning of our summer break, it also included a mission-based curriculum that corresponded to what we learned about this past year in our Classical Conversations curriculum, but I confess June was a tough month for consistency and that has fallen by the wayside.
